At least 400 people were at yesterday’s official opening of One Kids Place in North Bay. The facility treats special needs children in Nipissing, Muskoka and Parry Sound. Premier Dalton McGuinty was among the special guests. McGuinty says the 9.1 million dollar facility gives parents hope that there is help for their children. Services at the treatment centre include occupational and speech language therapy as well as rehab services. Partnerships include the province, North Bay and surrounding communities, the Heritage Fund and a staff fundraising campaign. One Kids Place helps children up to 19 with developmental and physical disabilities.
