Audible Light Signals Could Chirp Into The Wee Hours Of The Night

Two Huntsville residents living with vision loss are speaking up. Marcia Cummings and Mike Yale are asking Town Council to fix accessible pedestrian signals in the downtown area. Town officials recently made a decision to turn the signals off at 11 o’clock at night, after receiving noise complaints from residents. Cummings says how the traffic signals are configured is definitely not safe and hopes the system can be upgraded for the safety of everyone in the community. Council passed a resolution to forward recommendations made by Cummings to the District Engineering and Public Works Committee.
