More details have come available around this morning’s announcement that Huntsville will host the next G20. Tony Clement, the MP for Parry Sound Muskoka says the plan to hold the G8 next June at Deerhurst is still a go. Clement did not give an exact date, or location for the G20 but did say the two meetings will be held subsequently in June. Canada will co-chair the G20 with Korea and a second G20 meeting will held in Korea in November of 2010. Clement adds, much of the infrastructure that is currently being built for the G8 meeting will be used for the G20. But Clement would not speculate whether or not Parry Sound Muskoka will see and cash influx for additional infrastructure. He did say though, that the economic benefit to hosting the next G20 meeting could be marginally higher than what the coming G8 will bring. This year’s G20 is currently underway in Pittsburg.
