Officials from the Prime Ministers Office will be in Muskoka this week. Parry Sound Muskoka MP Tony Clement joined Moose FM this morning for an exclusive interview and says the officials will be in the area tomorrow and Friday. Clement says they will scope out venues for the G20. When asked where and when the G20 will be held, Clement remained tight lipped, but did say Deerhurst is a consideration for the meeting. Clement adds it’s up to the PMO to decide where to hold the G20. And leaders of other countries will be consulted as to the date of the meeting. As for the extra cost of hosting the G20, Clement says he does not see any extra expense to hosting both the G8 and the G20. He says the whole point of having both leader’s meetings in Muskoka is to cut costs. Meantime, Clement announced to Moose FM the cost of the new G8 2010 logo came to about $8,000. He says that’s quite reasonable considering it will be part of marketing Muskoka to the world.
