School Board Still Working On Plan For Opperations During G8

The local school board still isn’t providing many answers about how the G-8 Summit will affect students. At a recent Trillium Lakelands District School Board meeting, Huntsville Superintendent Kevin Cutler said normal school operations will be difficult if not impossible from June 21st to 25th. He said quote "very, very” detailed plans must be made for transportation, exams, instructional time for elementary students, field trips and graduation ceremonies. There are also transportation issues around bussing students from Huntsville to Bracebridge for French Immersion classes. Schools that will be affected include Huntsville High, Huntsville Public, Pine Glen, Riverside, Spruce glen and Irwin memorial. Cutler says plans for the week prior to the Summit will be made with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
