According to Ontario’s weather review,Old Man Winter is knocking at our door. The month of September was warmer and dryer than normal, but the end of the month brought cool, strong winds and rain. This past month though, was nothing compared to August which had one of the most significant tornado outbreaks in recent years. It is now believed that 17 tornadoes touched down in the province on August 2nd. That’s a new record that dates back to 1918. There has only been one tornado confirmed for September which was just north of Bowmanville. On a colder note, snow was observed in northwestern Ontario at the end of September…a sign that winter is on our doorstep.
