Thirteen outstanding women will be recognized for their contribution to Muskoka. The 8th Annual Women of Distinction gala will be held October 15th at the Deerhurst in Huntsville. The YWCA of Muskoka’s premier fundraising event will feature guest emcee Cathy Jones of the CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes.” Known for her chameleon-like characters this funny lady is best known for “just goofin’ around” with some of Canada’s biggest names in politics. According to YWCA board member Karen Terry, the Gala will also feature the silent auction which has become renowned in the area for its great deals.All funds will support the work the YW does with young women in the community. It will also be an opportunity to meet the YW’s new Executive Director Beth Ward, who took over the helm earlier last month. For tickets to the Gala call the YW office at 645-9827
