You may have to wait to roll up your sleeves for the flu shot this year. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will be doling out flu shots in three separate phases. The first round of the seasonal flu vaccine will be offered to seniors and people living in long-term care homes. But, public clinics will not be held. To get the shot you’ll have to make an appointment with your family doctor. The second phase of the vaccines will be the H-1-N-1 vaccine. It will be out in early November and the Health Unit will hold public clinics. We don’t yet know when those clinics will be held it all depends on when then H-1-N-1 vaccine will be available. The third phase of the seasonal vaccine program will be in the New Year and will be available to anyone over 6 months of age who wishes to get it. For more information www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.
